Kamloops Creates
Kamloops has long been a vibrant community for the arts. The city is abuzz with singer/songwriters, visual artists, actors and a wide array of other creative individuals.
Kamloops artists are supported by city venues like the Kamloops Art Gallery and Sagebrush Theatre. Artist-run organizations such as the Kamloops Arts Council and the Artists Studio and Gallery, provide opportunities for artists to gather, learn, and exhibit.
Aspiring artists and those wishing to further their education, can access art classes through Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops Parks and Recreation, the Kamloops Art Gallery, the Kamloops Arts Council and many private instructors.
During the Summer months, Music in the Park features live music evenings at the bandshell in Riverside Park. Art in the Park, hosted annually on Canada Day by the Kamloops Arts Council, showcases a great selection of arts and crafts, multicultural displays and cuisine, and live performances. From rock bands to cancan dancers to cowboy poets, Kamloops has no shortage of live entertainment for every taste.
