- DescriptionAs the days grow longer and more people head outdoors, the City of Kamloops, Kamloops Fire Rescue, Kamloops RCMP, Kamloops Search and Rescue, Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc, and Thompson Rivers University are coming together with a clear and urgent message: take river safety seriously. The risks are real, and the consequences can be permanent. The Thompson River is one of the deadliest rivers in British Columbia. Each year, preventable incidents underscore the importance of awareness, preparation, and respect for local waterways.
